There is a great diversity of voluntary and community organisations active in Ballymun. Many groups along with individual residents have been involved in the regeneration process. Everyone wants to ensure that the new town has all the facilities needed for a town of this size. It is recognized that comprehensive and sustained programmes of activities are essential for the new physical facilities to be fully utilized. The Breaking Ground Per Cent for Art commissioning programme strives to continue to have the active participation and involvement of the local community. Many of these community groups and organisations have expressed an interest in working with artists through the Breaking Ground programme.
